4th of July is a one of my favorite holidays and I hope that one day Gus loves it just as much as I do. We had all kinds of fun this weekend celebrating with family in Idaho, so I would say we are off to a good start. Gus' auntie bought him this cute book and it has been the perfect book to read this week to create some excitement around the 4th of July holiday. We have put together some fun activities that are all about red white and blue fun!
This Week's Featured Book:
Supplies for Activities:
- Toilet paper roll
- Red, white and blue paint
- Small star cookie cutter
- Pom poms
- Wood stick
Activity #1...Firework Painting
Fireworks are a 4th of July staple that leaves every little kid very entranced. We have created this fun activity to keep the 4th of July spirit going all day long. Just cut the top of a toilet paper role and dip it in red and blue paint.
Activity #2...4th of July Star Kabobs
My little Gus is a watermelon lover, to say the least. He went crazy over these star shaped watermelon kabobs. I just used a star cookie cutter to cut out the watermelon stars.
Activity #3...Pom Pom Flag
We used pom pom's and red, white and blue paint to create this cute flag. Just attach a wooden stick and you have a darling flag that any little one will love to proudly wave!
