Keeping with our nursery rhyme theme, we are excited to share some fun activities that pair great with 5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed. My little monkey, Gus loves jumping on the bed so this action rhyme was the perfect choice for us this week. We learned all about monkeys! Gus is picking up animal noises daily and it was fun teaching him all about what monkeys say and do!
This week's featured book:
Supplies for Activities:
- Clothes Pins
- Brown Paint
- Crackers, Peanut Butter, Bananas, Pretzels, Chocolate Chips, Cheerios
- Popsicle Sticks
Activity #1...Monkey Puppets
Gus had a blast playing with these monkey puppets. I found this free printable and attached popsicle sticks as I cut them out. We love easy activities and this one couldn't get any easier.
Activity #2...Monkey Snack
It's always fun to shake things up a bit at snack time. Gus got a kick out of these darling little monkey crackers. You know you've done well when your babe giggles all through snack time. I used crackers, peanut butter, bananas, chocolate chips, pretzels and cheerios to create these cute little creatures.
Activity #3...Monkeys Jumping on the Bed
I first had Gus color this free printable bed while I painted clothespins brown. I used this free printable for the monkey heads that I glued on the clothespins after the paint dried. Gus loved clipping the clothespins on the bed as I sang 5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed.
Activity #4...Build a Monkey from Shapes
Who knew that a heart, an oval and 3 circles could make such a cute little monkey. I started by cutting the shapes out on two shades of brown paper then together Gus and I built this cute little monkey!
