We just returned from a pretty dreamy Hawaiian vacation. Our cute grandma is turning 80 this year and has never been to Hawaii, so our family decided to celebrate her birthday Hawaiian style. We had 14 adults and 3 babies make the trip to the North Shore of Oahu. We were lucky enough to take Lydia and Gus with us. They loved the ocean and playing in the sand. I couldn't help myself, I had to buy the cutest Hawaiian themed book, Aloha Zoo, and we wanted to share it with you. Gus has instantly fallen in love with it. We hope you enjoy this week's activities that go along with this darling book!
This Week's Featured Book:

- Blue Jello
- Graham Crackers
- Teddy Grahams
- AirHead Xtremes Candy Strips
- Empty Paper Towel Role
- Construction Paper
Activity #1...Footprint Starfish
What kiddo doesn't love the thrill of dipping their little piggies in paint. This footprint starfish is one that I will always cherish, unfortunately those little feet won't stay little forever. This is a great opportunity to document those not yet stinky tootsies.
Activity #2...Sunbathing Teddy Treat
This ocean inspired treat is perfect for snack time. I first made blue jello and poured it into individual cups to setup. After the jello set I crushed graham crackers to make the sand and added the Airhead Extreme candy strips on top of the sand for a cute little beach towel toped with a sunbathing Teddy Graham. There you have it the cutest ocean snack ever!
Activity #3...Hawaiian Coloring Page
Gus is getting to the point where he really likes coloring. I found this free printable beach coloring page that paired perfectly with our beach theme this week.
Activity #4...Paper Towel Roll Palm Tree
This activities is about as easy as they come. To create this cute little paper towel roll palm tree, start by cutting slits in the top of an empty paper towel roll. Next cut out green leaves and stick them in the slits of the roll. This kept Gus very entertained, he loved the noises that came from yelling into the the paper towel roll.
