This darling book has been spot on with my 15 month old's obsession with trucks. This follow up to Whose Tools, which we also love, is fun for children of all ages. Your older children will love the guessing portion of the book, it features a description of what each truck does and 5 parts of the truck. Then comes the part that my little guy loves, the fold out flaps to reveal the truck and its operator. I love how educational and engaging this book is. This week's activities are all about trucks of all sorts!
This Week's Featured Book:
Supplies For Activities:
- Bubble wrap
- Painters Tape
- Play trucks
- Shaving cream
- Toast, red jam, grasshopper cookies, pretzels, one red dot
Activity #1...Bubble Wrap Road
This has to go down as one of my favorite activities I've ever put together. We just used bubble wrap to make the road and painters tape to outline the parking spaces and the road. Gus loved the popping of the bubble tape as he drove his trucks on it. This activity provided hours of entertainment for this little boy!
Activity #2...Truck Painting
My little truck lover had the time of his life playing with his truck in the paint. I just put 3 different colors of washable paint on a piece of paper and Gus created his masterpiece. The best part for me (other then hearing him giggle as he played) was the super easy cleanup!
Activity #3...Fire Truck Snack
I tried to duplicate this cute fire truck treat that motherhoodonadime.com posted. This piece of toast turned fire truck took 2 seconds to make, and was just the right amount of fun for snack time.
Activity #4...Truck Car Wash
After all that fun driving on a bubble wrap road and through paint it was only logical to end our day with a truck car wash. I used shaving cream to create this sensory activity.
