Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is a staple in Gus' book collection. I'm sure it probably is a favorite of yours as well, but if not this must own is on sale for $4.72 (Link Below). This darling book is a great way to introduce your little monster to the ABC's. The activities we chose to go along with Chicka Chicka Boom Boom are both fun and educational!
This Week's Featured Book:
Supplies for Activities:
- Baking sheet
- Alphabet magnets
- Small alphabet stickers
- Bananas, blueberries and kiwis
- Construction paper
- Green cupcake holders
Activity #1...Magnet Coconut Tree
This activity is super fun to do while reading the book. For my little Gus I would move the letter from the bottom of the pan to the top of the coconut tree as we read, but for your older kids they could do that themselves. The funnest part for your munchkins will probably when all the letters fall out of the tree.
Activity #2..ABC Exercise Flashcards
I found this free printable for ABC Exercise Flashcards. We had a blast with these. Gus isn't old enough to do all of these on his own, but for the ones he couldn't I helped him out. It's never to soon to start talking about the ABC's with your babes.
Activity #3...Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Sticker Craft
What little one is not enthralled with stickers. I cut out a coconut tree and then let Gus stick the alphabet stickers on. For the leaves I used green cupcake holders. This was the first time Gus played with stickers and he loved it!
Activity #4...Coconut Tree Snack
I love a good healthy treat and this darling coconut tree made with kiwis, bananas and blueberries did not disappoint!
