With all of this amazing snow we have been receiving in Utah I couldn't resist featuring a book all about snow. Whether you are enjoying the white stuff or you live somewhere a little warmer then our 20 degree weather, your little one is sure to love next weeks activities.
This Week's Featured Book:
Supplies For Activities:
- String Cheese
- Popsicle Sticks
- Wigglie Eyes
- Squirt Bottles
- Small White Styrofoam Cups
- Pom Poms
- Pipe Cleaners
- Winter Sensory Items (cottonballs, pom poms, snowflakes)
Activity #1...Snowman Cups
These colorful little snowmen were super simple to make. Just cut a strip of felt for the scarf and grab matching pom poms and pipe cleaner for the cute earmuffs. Gus loves stacking things right now so these turned out to be perfect for his age.
Activity #2...Winter Sensory Bin
Gus is in the funnest stage right now. Daily he is learning something new. I loved this winter sensory bin because it fulfills his love for discovery. I seriously just found things I had around the house so you could use anything your heart desires. I used cotton balls, pom poms, marshmallows, ornaments, sprinkles and I cut out a snowflake from felt.
Activity #3...Snowman treat
My little man loves string cheese so this snowman treat was perfect and super easy. I just grabbed some ribbon for a scarf and drew on the eyes, mouth and buttons with a marker. For the nose I used construction paper.
Activity #4...Snow Paint
With all the snow we've been receiving, I wanted to feature a fun activity your little one could do while playing in the snow. I used squeeze bottles but you could also use spray bottles. Dump a packet of Kool-Aid in, add water and shake.
Activity #5...Popsicle Stick Frosty
Start by having your munchkin paint 9 small popsicle sticks white and one black. After the popsicle sticks were painted I lined them up and painted the top of them black. Then add your black stick for the brim of the hat. I used wiggly eyes, orange paper and black beads for Frosty's face.
