Our Christmas tree holds a very special place in my heart, for me it signifies the start to my favorite time of the year. Every year I can't wait for November to hit so I can put up my tree (against my husbands wishes). I love that Gus is just as obsessed to say the least. Little Blue Truck's Christmas was the perfect book to read this week, and the twinkle lights on the last page will grab any little ones attention. The activities we chose are all Christmas tree related. Hopefully this will help you keep your munchkins out of your tree and into fun Christmas activities.
This Week's Featured Book:
Supplies For Activities:
- Egg Carton
- Washable Paint
- Shoe Box
- Pom Pom's
- Kiwi's and Raspberries
Activity #1...Footprint Christmas Tree Card
This year I wanted to make a couple of Christmas cards for Gus' grandmas that were personalized by my little man. Dunking those little piggies in green paint will be fun for your kiddos and the recipient is sure to cherish that card forever!
Activity #2...Stackable Egg Carton Christmas Tree
If you're anything like me you are always looking for ideas to help develop your little ones fine motor skills. This stackable Christmas tree will do just that. Just cut up a egg carton and paint them green. I decorated each eggshell with Christmas stickers but you could easily just use some paint. I then put a little bit of styrofoam in a cup and stuck a wooden stick in. There you have it a stackable Christmas tree.
Activity #3...Christmas Tree Shoe Box
Gus loved this activity! Lately he is obsessed with taking things in and out so this box was perfect for him. For your babe that is a little older, matching the hole color to the pom pom will take this activity up a notch.
Activity #4...Fruity Christmas "Tree"-t
I love this Christmas snack because it's super healthy and easy. All you need is a few kiwis and some raspberries and you have a "tree"t your babe is sure to love.
Activity #5...Pom Pom Christmas Tree Painting
Need an easy activity to keep your munchkin busy. I had to help Gus a little with this but he still had a blast. I must say, it is pretty cute hanging on our fridge!
