I am so excited to feature one of our all time favorite books. This is one of those books that can keep Lydia very entertained. We always take it on the road with us as well because she just loves to look through it. It's a counting primer that is touch and feel as well! All the makings of a great book. We had a lot of fun with the activities as well.
What You'll Need:

- Red and Black Paint
- Black Pipe Cleaners and Pom Poms
- Paper Plates
- Wiggley Eyes
- Pancake Supplies
- Chocolate Chips
- Red Food Coloring
- Clothes Pins
Activity #1 Handheld Ladybugs
You can whip up these little guys in a cinch. All they use are egg cartons and paint. Add a little pom pom and pipe cleaner and you have the cutest little handheld ladybugs.
Activity #2 Pancakes
This girl right here is a picky eater. We can't seem to find a single vegetable that she will eat regularly. But these were a hit. I even caught her trying to lick the plate (I blame the chocolate chips and syrup.) I just added some red food coloring to make this fun breakfast.
Activity #3 Paper Plate Bugs
We have made good use of the 99 cent pack of paper plates we bought. Can you guys tell we love to craft with them? All we did was paint the halved paper plates and use construction paper for the head and spots.
Activity #4 Ladybug Math
I found this fun printable on Pinterest and though it might be a little advanced for my little one, this would be awesome for any preschooler learning to count. Until we are there, Lydi liked pulling the clothespins off and pinning them back on. Though we won't grade her just yet.
Activity #5 Apple Bugs
My little ladybug is a huge apple fan. So these were the best little treat for her. Of course she picked off all the chocolate chips first (And I made sure to remove the toothpick holding the whopper head on) but then she gobbled up the apple! It's a fun way to get your kids excited about fruit!
